Dread... sometimes simple not fair.

It got my atention that Dread, in lord of the ring online, as all you know, Lotro as well, is sometimes not fair in the game. But to start explain my point of view, which can be wrong, I need to start to explain what it´s dread in the game.

A good thing about Lotro, is that players dont have Hit points, instead they have Morale points. This wont "kill" your character if drops to zero, only bested in the battlefield and somehow drove back to the mysterious circle of shame.. know as the circle of shame or Graveyard. But it´s not a graveyard at all, it´s just a simple circle in the floor maded by stones and that usually has no other thing on it than dirt and players. No grass, no snow, no water, not even a tree.

Like many online games, if you die, or in this case: if you are bested by your opponent, you can reappear but you have to pay a penalty. In World of Warcraft the payment was 10 minutes of playing with a useless character with all the stats dropped to 25% or so.. I barely remember, but it was NASTY. in lotro, the punishment is not that severe, but you get a debuf as well for then minutes... called dread.

Usually, the players feels no either hope nor dread, they are "normal", if they visit the shire, due the calm of the place and the beauty of it, you can gain +3 of hope which allows you to hit more (from 100% to103%) or have extra morale hit (From 100% to 103%). At Rivendell, the hope buff goes wild, you can have +5 of hope just for walk inside and you can reach even +10 (and maybe more, who doesnt if the machine counts them as well) if you are near some heroes in Rivendell.

Dread, obviously, works viceversa. Not only when you are bested, but also when you are near some ugly guy few levels above you and with the Dread buff on, even near a shire or a very nasty place as well. sounds fair at the beginning but things change with the time, like for example, in the shire you get +3 hope, giving you +3% extra of hit points and +3 extra of damage... but look what happens when you get +3 dread:

85% maximun Morale.
97% Healing recieved.
103% Damage recieved.
90% Damage dealt.
-1 Skill effect level.

In other words, makes you useless, which is a pain since sometimes you have this special oportunity to revivie in combat all by yourself (Cooldown of 1 hr) and continue with the battle if is possibly... But instead of a lvl 50, you are going to count as a lvl 47 or 46, debuffed... or Fresh meat in Orcish.

Dread 5... more nastier even.
Dread 5, for example, has 70% maximun morale, 92% Healing recieved, 106% Damage recieved, 80% Damage dealt and -3 skill effect... Useless... and if you read the flavor text, it says: "A shadow of oppression has fallen into your spiritcausing you to cower." sounds logical, when you are scared, you are almost worthless... at least this scared... But the worst part is that if you reach lvl 6 on dread or 7 dreads, your character is gonna fall cowered and it´s gonna become a useless.

I´m not complaining, after all, about the dread, but I´m complaining about the Hope effect in the players, t should be a little bit stronger than what it is.

Well, I´m gonna wait for my ten minutes of Dread while i watch a bit of TV, god luck friends! and have a great hunting! :)
