Meet Mazog

One of the main plots of Mines of Moria are the Orcs and the excesive forces that they have gathered in there. I didnt got the idea so clear but seems like Mazog its the most powerfull orc in all Moria and, obviusly, he is the leader of all the tribes in there... Well, Maybe not of the Globsnaga, but at least from all the normal looking Orcs in the mines.

Since today its a day for exploring instance quests at the very end of Moria, just a bit to be sent to Mirkwood to fulfill your destiny as saviour (Wow.. that sounded awesome, sadly, its almost a lie... like the cake) we are going review almost all of them, I have the Mazog's instance, which is divided between two parts, and then the relics of Gorothul had given to many habitants of the Mines. all of them Ancient evils like Marrovals and those rock lurking creatures that looks awesome and are a formidable enemies at battle.

Mazog, well, you will see it, has a important part of all of this, not only because you meet him in the Dwarven history of Balin's tomb but also by few others things that will disturb your questing among the zones of the forgotten city of Moria. He is one of those character where you will have a hate/hate relationship that its gonna be hard to forget for a looong time, and seems like he is going to appear on Mirkwood as well, yet I can't be sure. So far he is alive and so far I arrived to the shores of Mirkwood as well.

Broín sent you into some old forgotten forge (previous post) to find a hidden entrance to Mazog's domains and this is the entrance, this very same instance is the way in to do what Broín wants more: I wont say anything else. I dont like to be a spoiler :3 This istance is quite fast and simple, and sadly, you will not count with the inspiration buff to defeat your enemies. No worries, most of them are normal and few signatures with low health will roam the ways.

Ovar is a faithfull dwarf who is gonna follow you...

While you both kill some oversized lizards.

Until things growns sinister and he decide to wait for you
to clean the zone.

From this part and on, things are going to be a little bit rough but worry not, if I did it with a Minstrel, you can do it with almost any class, I was not even in danger thanks to some good luck shoots that I got while pulling. The instance is based in some hidden cavern that ends in a ruined balcony of a huge dwarven building where you can actually see others buildings and waterfalls that seems to never end at the dark bottom of the cliff. Just... Dont jump. I didnt jumped, but I need to say that I was extremely curious.

Some improvised bridges will help you to cross
some perils

I.. just want to jump down...
After that balcony you finally get near the zone where the Throne of Mazog lies near, its a filled path with orcs that are waiting to kill you at any moment, and some of them are patrols, so be carefull with your pulls or you are going to have a great time in here.

It's a long way to hell...

3 swords against 1 axe and 1 mace...
This part is quite funny, your mission is not only to reach Mazog but also lead a small 2 man siege against his castle in almost no time, enemies are extremely weak and they can be easily killed with AoE attacks if you count with many of them. We, Minstrels, have 3 of them and usually that was more than enough. of course, if you are a warrior skald.

Near the throne, the soldier growns a bit harder but nothing
to worry about.

You finally confront Mazog and this part is basically long, its mostly a RP event like
you dont attack, just listen.

And when things goes nasty: Elves and dwarves comes to your aid.
Now, the second part of this tale. Yes, there's a second part of this tale and this time you are the one who told it to a Elven maiden in the big tree at Amroth, Lórien. In this part they give you the chance to decide what to do with Mazog's fate, or kill it or deliver it to Mirkwood and get something in return, i choosed the one of killed him but.. well... the story can't be changed, so I guess that whatever you pick, the result is gonna be the same.

In this part, the instance, becomes a little bit more nastier. Enemies are signature nd you have to escape with Mazog all the way bck from where you came. The dwarves gaves you a small flag that allows you to get a small buff, can be of damage, health reg, offense tactics or even defense bonus between others. I took it the Health Reg, 450 morale points per 4 seconds was to good to be truth.

Mazog is a funny character, at least in this instance.

Since the instance ist the same but backwards, there's
nothing new to review except the end.

Mazog at the end shows its truly nature, a angry Orc leader....

That is as easy as any other Orc of the instance...
After this questline, the best two instances of the game (At least from this book) are going to be available, about some relics and some Ancient Evil that wants to be defeated. The best part of this place is the Experience reward, it is true that there's also a nice set of three pieces that you can get, but the experience in here is formidable as well, both for you or your legendaries items equipped. Just have in mind this: Clean your backpacks, the loot in here is quite random, but I got in the second part few items that I ha to let it go for not having enough space in the backpack. Useless stuff, but we never know when a Second age item is gonna show up.

Have a great time my friends, and good luck! see you later in a bit with the last two instances, maybe today or maybe tomorrow earlier :)
